I brought home 3 more rats. Two of my older rats passed away, so I was going to see if my lone rat can get along with the new babies. Intros are going ok.
The baby red-footed tortoises. I have had them 2 weeks now. They are really good eaters. Yes, they do get very big. They do very well in the Florida heat and humidity.
Picture for attention.
I think I potty trained my dragon. I've been taking her and putting her in my sink for a quick bath on one of my breaks at work and she goes. She just loves it every time. She's a happy lizard now.
I did not have my cam and I only saw it for a second. The lizard was on top of Selina in the kitchen. Just chillin. I laughed and the moment ended. It was so good.
Strawberry Shortcake likes the washer/dryer. (copied from my fb) My critters are funny.
The herp rescue asked for people to grow a row of greens as the prices have risen so much. I'm hoping that should be extra motivation to grow a garden!
This is Chayton. She's joining our family tomorrow.
She's a petite girl. Probably won't get to be more than 30-35 lbs. she was found under a porch in Georgia, with her mom and siblings. She very timid/shy and it will take some doing to gain her trust. I do think my son is the right person to accomplish this.
My main reservation is that I hope this isn't just her personality. When we see puppies, they are usually so playful...they jump all over you and bite/lick you. There is none of that with Chayton. She has been with her foster mom for just under two weeks and you can see she has built up some trust there, but I would have expected more. Then again, I'm not at all a dog person and my cousin, who is the director of a large animal shelter, said this is common behavior. They get a lot of dogs from Georgia being brought to New York and Connecticut. Most of them turn around completely when placed in the right home. Chayton has been through a lot in her short 15 weeks. And even if she never becomes a friendly outgoing dog, at least she will have a loving home to feel safe and comfortable in.
She is dog and cat friendly...her foster mom has 8 dogs and two cats. And she does play with the other dogs. I hope she does well with Vischer! His issue will be trying not to hump her. He has bad manners when it comes to that and meeting other dogs lol.
I had a friend years ago , she use to have a large white pet rat that use to cling around her neck . She used to walk around town with it …..it was a bit of a talking point .
