@shyvas You always post lots of interesting and informative articles, but the VegNews article about chocolate and cocoa production (at 4:19 AM today) was a real eye-opener. I wasn't aware of how wasteful it can be, or about the very real welfare issues for the workers (especially children) on the farms, but I'm glad I am now. I have to admit that my eyes REALLY bugged open when I read...:

...research from the British Heart Foundation noted that the average Brit will eat around 7,560 chocolate bars, 2,268 slices of chocolate cake, and 8,316 chocolate biscuits in a lifetime. .... but then I did a double-take and noticed the "in a lifetime" part. And said to myself "... oh... over a lifetime, not in a year"...

I was a little surprised that the plantbasednews.org article about vegan options at major restaurant chains didn't give Taco Bell and Burger King higher ratings. They're much better than KFC or McDonald's. Then again, that's not a very high bar to be measured against.

Indeed the Brits consume a lot of chocolate. However, Switzerland and Germany beat them as they are the top consumers in the world.

We certainly like our after dinner mints in the UK:

I agree about BK being better than McDonald's, but as you said, it's not a very high bar. I can't remember the last time I went to Taco Bell -- probably not since by early 20s, lol.

I love peppermint patties, and used to find Junior mints at Easter and holiday would be vegan because they left out the dairy. I forget why, I think something about being Kosher maybe?

I used to also like Taco Bell long ago, but the last time was when they started their fresco menu. I got a burrito, parked to eat in my car, and got a mouthful of soapy cilantro. It was so awful :confounded:

I like cilantro, but in small doses, so I guess I'll keep Taco Bell off my list.

Honestly I can taste it if they scrape off cilantro rice and used that tortilla. I've had that happen at Chipoltle and watched them scrape off every bit, but thought it would still be ok. It was ruined for me. I never go to burrito places anymore cause almost all the salsas have cilantro.
There is one that lists it on their online menu as a choice. I appreciate that
