All of you have likely heard about Philando Castile, the black man who was shot by policemen in a traffic control. Fewer of you have likely heard about Louis Hunter, his cousin.
In the unrests following the killing of Philando Castile, Louis Hunter was arrested and charged with rioting. Those charges were dropped, but by that time he had already lost his home and his truck which he needed for his job.
Louis Hunter is now - together with two people who became his good friendswhen they supported him through his ordeal - opening a vegan restaurant in Minneapolis, and you can help the three to reach their goal by supporting them. They already raised money by hosting vegan pop-up dinners in Minneapolis, and are now preparing to open their restaurant with the help of a kickstarter campaign.
I normally do not share any personal requests here on the forum, but I think this is a great plan, and I wish them the best of luck with this venture - They still have about 6 more days to raise the last part of the money needed to open the restaurant, if you are able to support them, please do so!
Some of you might know Sarah Woodcock, she was the founder of TAVS - The Abolitionist Vegan Society until she decided to take a break from vegan activism due to personal reasons. She and her husband campaigned for Louis and even managed to turn him into a vegan in the process
