Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

I've been thinking that I am going to try to maintain most of the habits I've developed during the last couple of months.

I have become much more conscious of not wasting anything, using paper products sparingly, etc.

I have always washed my hands a lot, but now I'm aware of doing it thoroughly.

I will continue to take steps to not bring any viruses home - my sister's health is not as robust as mine. Likewise, I wil continue to take steps to protect others in case I am an asymptomatic carrier of something.

I will continue to shop less frequently, and more mindfully.

I've been thinking a lot about this as well, especially your statement that I bolded. I've been taking to using those small rubber spatulas to get every last drop out of peanut butter jars, jam jars, vegan mayo jars, etc. You can still get a few more servings by scraping the jars judiciously. I'm also trying to stretch out the food supply by paying attention to portion sizes to make foods last longer, like a bag of pretzels. I am having the recommended serving, rather the than two or three I would typically eat at one time.

Also, I always dilute the dish soap when the bottle gets near empty. I get a few more washes from the dish soap bottle doing that because it makes it easier to squeeze out. I do this with hand soap as well.

I, too, have always been a hand washer, but I was not as thorough as I am now.

I've always done those things, but today I used a box cutter to get the last of the really thick lotion from the bottle. I wish it had just come in a jar.
It was Walmarts Equate version of Gold Bond which I got for .99 cents at the discount store. Yes, it was worth cutting! I had been adding it to jar since I'd been storing it upside down!

We do a better contraption to break things down to recycle. I don't buy pb in jars anymore, but when I bought the plastic ones I was crazy about smashing or cutting them so they wouldn't end up stuck on an animals face. Seems every year people are trying to trap animals with a jar on their head. The last ones locally were helped by police and firefighters.
And those bands. Always always cut up rubber bands or rings!

I can't say much about eating less though...that was an intention

I didn't add a response in that thread because your question had already been answered, repeatedly. But, since you apparently want to hear it one more time, here it is:

Anyone who has an average functioning brain knows that the images are photo shopped. If basic reasoning fails you, then all you have to do is google "how are deep space images enhanced" and you will find explanations from NASA to Slate.

It's no forking secret, and only a badly disordered mind could manufacture a conspiracy theory out of it.

Just because you're ignorant of an item of information doesn't mean that there's been a conspiracy to keep it from you. It just means that you've chosen to remain ignorant, and then to bolster your extremely fragile ego by manufacturing a conspiracy to excuse your ignorance to yourself.

This is a side topic to the thread, but then it was you who brought it up in an attempted slur - referencing my beliefs in this area, not me. So instead of derailing further I'll simply direct people to the thread: Conspiracy theories are dangerous & should not be tolerated.
and leave it up to them to decide if Micky Mouse on an official "space photo" is simply an "enhancement". Perhaps God/the big bang, whatever you believe in has a wry sense of humor.

I keep reading that people are saying that they are saving loads of money during the time they are indoors. I think we are managing to spend more than usual!
I think I’m spending more on groceries alone lol, but that’s because I’m stockpiling. I think I’m good now for awhile. It’s not that want to stockpile. It’s more that if I finally get a time slot for delivery or pickup I feel like I need to take advantage. I’m concerned that if I just wait and use up what I have, I won’t get a time slot when I really need it.

Just asking. I don't post on religious threads to argue.

You certainly have been psychologically affected, as your reality depends on covert, nefarious, ploys to take over the world....yet you offer no solutions?

It is not logical to offer solutions to problems people think are not real.

I'm going to use a phrase I never thought I would, yet, it's just too damn convenient-- you people that pick apart all the fragments as you travel down the rabbit holes you creat in efforts to make everyone else wrong, never end up with anything to offer other than the superiority it allows to feel.
I don't think anyone here who follows the science and suggestions for covid 19 has ever had 100% trust in the people involved, but instead follow the science, put together the links, and make their own judgments without need to be 100%. We have a sense of trust that is pragmatic, not absolute.
You instead that what the authorities offer and tear it down in so many crazy components it allows you to be unconditionally right, because you shred it and can't find anything that makes sense. You find pieces that seem to connect and find ways to connect them to others without any regard to anything true, and more important, anything helpful.

I went to a trusted mechanic once, with my car. He was trusted because I knew him, and he worked next door to me. It would have been very stupid of him to try to pull a fast one on me because I was in a position to influence his potential (and existing) clients. One could say he was the authority on auto-mechanics and had the answers / solutions I needed to get my car running in good shape again. I'm personally not a mechanic so I trusted that authority, until I found out he was manipulating me and trying to bilk me by drawing out the "solution" in order to charge me more for his time for things that didn't work. I happened to have a friend who is also a mechanic and between him, and another person (an auto electrician) we worked it out and my car was fixed elsewhere.

The moral of the story was, my intuition told me something was wrong, things didn't add up, and I listened to that. Instead, I could have just kept believing in not only that mechanic's authority but his honesty and been overcharged. All kinds of things didn't add up, up to, and including, certain things he said in passing.

I apply the same processes of reasoning and intuition (and knowledge already obtained) to trusted organizations. The difference is, when I question them, I'm a "conspiracy theorist", unlike when I question what turned out to be a dodgy mechanic.

You have an extremely active imagination, I grant you that.

ETA: Also apparently a rather odd Mickey Mouse fixation.

If you feel it's not 'logical' to offer solutions, why do you think it's 'logical' to post the problems? Makes you sound crazy.

Your mechanic story- many people can relate to that situation. It's called getting duped. A rationale person would assemble evidence- written documentation from the other mechanics who've worked on your car, dated photos, receipts. They could go on a neighborhood site and find others who may have had issues from this mechanic. You could then bring your evidence to court, maybe even a joint lawsuit, and have your case before a judge. Of course if the people who had work on your car are taking pictures of similar cars and alluding that they are yours, or maybe your car truly worked just fine after the first mechanic, but your 'intuition' said to you "that man is a crook. your car isn't really fixed, he just wants you to think it's fixed. it will kill you", and your mechanic friends agree with your intuition, then you don't have a case .

I'm definitely saving money. Having said that, I am looking forward to a hopeful Level 2 at some point and things reopening again.. So I am guessing these savings will not last... Need some shoes as well... 🙂

I can kind of relate to that... I. Have also been called a conspiracy theorist by some, that I know..

Luis, Nekodaiden is a Flat Earther. His thinking on matters of science is so disordered that there's no point in engaging with him.
Nekodaiden - proof that the earth is round: I wrote this at daytime in New Zealand (2:41 pm) however in America it would have been night time when I wrote this message, because the Earth is round. If the Earth was flat then it would also have been daytime in the USA when I wrote this.

Oh no, because according to Nekodaiden, there are multiple light sources orbiting the flat Earth. They are small and close to the Earth, so they only light up part of the flat Earth. The "sun" you see on Monday is not the same "sun" you see on Tuesday.

Take it to an appropriate thread mate.

You do quite well at supplementing statements not made in order to further the mocking you do. Also, take it to an appropriate thread - you started the FE slur/bait here.
