It just occurred to me, that Trump will be gone, one way or another, in 2 -6 years.

He is not a long-term threat.

The real threat to America is Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader. He's a Senator from a deep red state, so he's not going anywhere anytime soon. Remember, he's the one who denied a hearing for Garland, and lead the charge (behind the scenes) for Kavanaugh.

The only way to reduce his ability to cause further damage, is to vote in the mid terms, and encourage your family and friends to do the same.
 
I am not sure whether this amounts to a disagreement with your post or not, but...

It is possible that Trump could do something within the next 2 - 6 years that could cause long term damage to the US or the world, such as getting involved in a nuclear war.

His decision to pull the US out of the Paris climate agreement may already be causing long term damage, and he is also causing reputational damage to the US that I think will last quite a bit beyond when he leaves office, especially in Western and Northern European countries.

Trump won't get involved in a nuclear war, as it would likely decimate his primary source of income - Real Estate.

Trump is doing the bidding of the Republican congress and their corporate masters - so anyone with an (R) after their name would have pulled out of the Paris Agreement.

As for respect - They are all aware that Trump is temporary. Once the Democrats control congress and the WH, they know things will get back to normal.

As he keeps calling her "Pocahontas" because of her ancestry, I guess it is only fine if he is referred to as "Ratcliffe" in fhe future...

It is astonishing to me that even when the orange menace is presented with video evidence of things he's said, he still denies it outright. And this does not seem to bother his supporters. I cannot for the life of me understand this. I'm sure there is some psychological study out there that might explain this disturbing phenomenon, but man, it really rips me that people still support this outright liar!
 
Because taxes and Roe v Wade. That's all they care about. From their perspective, the character, honesty and integrity of the person who delivers those things doesn't matter.
