TV & Film The TV Room

I am so looking forward to Boardwalk Empire starting up again. Steve Buscemi is one of my favorite actors. Gotta survive the Breaking Bad rollercoaster first.

Just watched the last episode of Futurama :( I dont really like the Fry/Leela focussed episodes, so I was disappointed it was about that (although it was predictable itd be one). The series has been nowhere near as good as before it was cancelled the first time, but I'll still miss it.

I'd (personally) have to disagree there, with respect to the classics of course. I think there were more stand-out good ones in the old series but I also think there were more mediocre ones. There are less majorly funny ones in the new series I think but I feel like it's more consistently funny, whereas the old series had really good points and really bad points.

But regardless, the ending F**KING BROKE ME. Holy crap. I was expecting to be a little disappointed because although Season 10 (I think? I lose track sometimes) started out fantastic, the last few (except Zoidberg's, I'm glad he got a happy ending with someone who actually cares about him) have been kinda subpar. But wow the last episode was fantastic. Made me bawl like a baby, I watched it three times.

The only one sadder I can think of is freaking Jurassic Bark, and we don't talk about that episode in public so I won't say any more.

ETA: Oh and because it was the network's decision (seriously Comedy Central, besides the Daily Show on occasion what else do you have that even compares to Futurama in terms of popularity, dumb choice there), Groening is not opposed to having the series on another network, so there's a possibility it could get picked up yet again.

Oh and I think they're still doing the comics too, so that's a plus.

I just discovered that Orphan Black is available on Video on Demand. I seriously need to catch up before the fall TV season gets underway.

I have to admit the new season of American Horror Story looks interesting. I will probably give it a shot. I despised last season even though I didn't finish watching it. This season seems a bit lighter and entertaining while still maintaining the crazy fucked up drama and horror from the original season.

I have one episode of Orphan Black left.

The last episode will make you go

When it originally aired I managed to watch the first two episodes and then got distracted and didn't get around to watching the rest of them. Last week I found them on Video on Demand and decided I was going to catch up. Since it had been awhile since I watched those first two episodes, I watched them again on VOD. But I have yet to watch any more. I can't seem to get past those first two episodes. :???: But I swear I am going to do it, and then we can talk about it. :D

I just watched the pilot episodes of the new Fox comedies "Dads" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". My reviews:

Dads: No!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Yes!

F**king Torchwood.

It's such unintelligent drek. Always just pretending to be complicated, making up this stupid "adult-oriented content" just so the showrunners can be all ohhh, we're so edgy! and not actually devote any time to storytelling, and to cap it all off the budget is bad and the effects are lazy.

So, tell me again why I keep hitting "next episode"?
