TV & Film The TV Room

We're completely hooked on The Americans. Season 1 started airing on (I think) ITV recently, but we just couldn't handle waiting a whole week between episodes, so Jen found a way to buy episodes cheaply online. I suspect part of the reason why we like it so much is because it's specifically targeting our generation. The main characters are in their 30s / 40s, they have children, and the story is set in the 80s, which is probably the decade we remember most fondly since that is when we grew up. But also, it's about the politics of that era (well, they haven't gone into any real depth yet, but there is hope) and spies. Also a healthy dose of sex. Overall, it's a good mix, hehe.

Just watched Bodyshockers: My tattoo hell. Urgh it really annoyed me. This lady wanted to get a big tattoo on her back, that she'd really thought about and the presenter (who I used to really admire) tried to convince her not to get it done by showing her other people's shitty tattoos. she did it anyway and it looked amazing, ha. just really biased, like every tattoo is regretted. next week is on piercings, i'll be refusing to watch that one in case I through something through the telly

I've started watching a new show on Fox called Rake starring Greg Kinnear, and I like it. It airs on Thursdays at 9:00.

I have no life so I've been watching more TV. I finally got around to watching the first few episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I think it is quite good.
