TV & Film The Walking Dead

Yeah I get the distinct impression, from the sneak peaks, that a trap has been set and the bulk of Woodbury is about to become zombie snacks.

Milton will probably end up going out heroically... Saving Andrea or helping kill the Governor or something.

The big question is Team Rick, and I agree that the baby has a good chance of not making it to season 4. Hard to develop the baby's character unless about 4 or 5 years pass between now and October, which means the baby's only real purpose from a writer's perspective is to provide some major drama at a key moment. Incidentally, this is exactly where she dies in the comic.

I predict a drama filled baby killing, followed by an angry vengeful Governor killing.

Oh I like that! I think having a baby in the plot is too complicated. The production issues are enormous dealing with babies and young children....

For sure. The baby has had about 2 minutes of screen time total, and half of that it's probably a doll wrapped in a blanket.

My mom told me they wouldn't dare have a baby killed no matter how violent the movie or series, and I had to remind her of Dawn of the Dead, where the Russian girl got bit while pregnant and gave birth to a zombie baby, which was promptly shot in the head.

Am I sadistic for being anxious to see where they're going with it lol...

I was thinking along the same lines... that they wouldn't DARE kill a BABY! But I have changed my mind. It just makes more sense to get rid of poor Judith. It will make a huge number of viewers cry and be quite shocking but this series has been pretty shocking from the git go.

Read an article that they are killing off 27 characters in the finale. I think Hershel, Beth, Carol and Judith are doomed. And many "extras" in Woodbury of course.....
During the off season I am going to read all the comics.

:woo: Please do! They are excellent, and are different enough from the show where they are an enjoyable experience on their own. They can be brutal at times, though, so watch out.

I may have to stay up and watch Talking Dead. I don't usually watch it.

Alright I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting some HUGE shocking moments, but nothing really made me go "OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Carl is turning into Aniken. It will be very interesting where they go with his storyline. Will you join the Governor and abandon his father and the group? Or will he eventually take over Rick's position as leader? I know he has a major storyline in the novels, but I have no clue what it is.

It sucks that Carl killed that kid because I was hoping for a love triangle between him, Carl, and Beth. Oh well.

I was surprised that the Governor lived. Not shocked at all that he slaughtered the majority of his town members. Really ****** that Martinez and the other guy didn't take the thousands of opportunities they had to kill the psycho Governor.

Milton's death wasn't unexpected either. He went out like a champ though and for once showed some bravery. With the exceptions of Michonne and Merle, he is the only one who had the balls to actually try to kill the Governor. Andrea and Rick couldn't do it even after witnessing how evil he was.

And Andrea. Ok I wasn't expecting her to die, but I'm also not upset over her death just annoyed. How is it that she fought off all those zombies in the woods , but couldn't fight off Milton? Why wasn't she trying harder to get the plyers? And she always wore matching lacy bra and panty sets yet no socks?? Who wears boots with no socks? There's a zombie apocalypse! Your feet need to be comfortable dammit!

Andrea hesitating was annoying. Andrea dying was another case of "you hate this character? Okay, we'll redeem them and kill them off brutally!"

How the hell are they gonna handle all those people at the prison? Do they understand that the Governor could come back at any time and shoot the place up? Why didn't they occupy Woodbury and kill the Gov upon any attempted return?

The only thing I'd consider something of a surprise was Carl shooting the kid but, when he explained himself to Rick later, I couldn't help but agree with him. I suppose from his perspective, it's hard to rationalize the difference between not shooting the kid and not shooting the Governor. As young as he is, in a situation like that, emotional coldness and an altered perspective is inevitable.

And yes, I can't believe Andrea actually spent almost the entire episode fumbling with the pliers, stopping for frequent conversation and dramatic facial expressions every few seconds like she had all week and actually kind of enjoyed being in the chair with a soon to be zombie in the room. But the fact that she was the highly anticipated death? Hardly a heart breaker at this point, though it would have been cool to see her come back to reality and go back to being badass instead of annoying.

I know I just said I'm done with my highly inaccurate predictions, but after reading about how in season 4 they plan to reinforce the idea that the zombies are still dangerous, and then seeing the Woodbury bus rolling into the prison with all the non story essential extras, it all fell into place. The purpose of this episode was to provide Team Rick with some expendable zombie food so they'd have some people to get killed off next season without making fans of any of the current characters too ****** off. Plus they still have the Governor to contend with.

I did enjoy this episode, but I wanted to see the Governor get killed by one of the many people who deserve the opportunity :p

After that hype about "27 characters will be killed off", I really expected more of the main characters to get offed. Milton was no surprise but I did not expect Andrea to go out like that. I figured they would keep the governor around a while longer. Carl is evolving into a cold little SOB but I suppose in a world gone mad it really shouldn't be a surprise. I guess I agree that all those extra people will end up as zombie lunch eventually. Now to read the GN on the break!

Agreed. Carl's reasoning for offing the kid really made it seem justifiable.

I'm somewhat glad we didn't see how the Governor tortured Andrea, especially if it mirrored the Michonne/Governor torture scenes from the comics. However, we didn't see any actual wounds on her. Just blood in certain places like her wrists. That kind of annoyed me.

Your theory about the town people being zombie food makes perfect sense!

I figured the 27 would mostly be towns people, but I was still anticipating the deaths of MAJOR characters. I was really expecting the Governor to go back to the prison and kill off everyone there while Rick and the others were in town.

When the Governor started killing his people for a second I thought maybe Martinez would be the one to kill him, after which he might have made an interesting group member... having started to click with Daryl and all. I suppose this is still a remote possibility.

I know,:p having a heart to heart talk at a time like that. :argh: Aww, I cried when she died though. I was expecting them to get back and find that the Gov had killed all the ones left at the prison. It was a good episode but I expected more main characters to die.
