TV & Film The Walking Dead

I was really rooting for Andrea in this episode and I was ****** off with what happened, especially because she managed to trap the governor. How the hell did he escape from that situation anyway?!

I was hoping they would show some flashback to explain it.

I know!! I was thinking at first NO WAY are they killing him THIS way!!! But I sure jumped when he grabbed Andrea! The gov is too good as the villain to kill off yet!

Yeah I was going to be disappointed if the writers has chosen to kill him off that way.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit too easy a way to get rid of him. :D I want Michonne to cut his head off.:p

As much as Andrea annoys me when she is being whiny I like her when she is being brave and heroic like the scene in the last series when she was fighting all the zombies in the woods on her own when she got separated from the group. I hope she is rescued or manages to escape in some way and doesn't get killed off.

Now that would be awesome!

Yeah Andrea is amazing when it comes to fighting off zombies, unfortunately she sucks when it comes to fighting off ******* psycho manipulative men.

Enjoyed this last episode, but a couple things to nitpick as usual :p

Am I the only one who feels that what the characters consider to be ethical or not ethical is fairly arbitrary? Actually, I suppose that would in fact make it somewhat more realistic.

But anyway... I was specifically thinking of the issue of using zombies as a weapon. Tyrese seems to believe it's okay to attack a group with a baby using guns (including a 50 caliber machine gun, which by modern Geneva Conventions rules cannot be used against "soft" targets), but releasing zombies on them is just plain wrong? And Milton has some similar inconsistencies. Make up your minds. Either you're at war with each other or you're not. If I were to attempt to take Woodbury, better believe I'd be using the zombies to my advantage. I'd be setting fire to the walls as I sniped it's defenders, aiming for the chest with the intention of turning them into zombies inside the crumbling defenses.

And as has been mentioned before, their unwillingness to kill certain people when they have the chance is also kind of weird, considering how violent and confrontational they have shown themselves capable of being with even less threatening people. Several of the most aggressive characters (Michonne, Andrea, Rick) have had the opportunity to easily dispatch the Governor, whom they know to be a psychopathic homicidal maniac, yet they don't, knowing that the consequences of letting him live will likely be an unnecessary war and the inevitable deaths of many of their friends. Meanwhile, they seriously consider sacrificing Michonne, knowing that it is unlikely to accomplish anything except her getting tortured and killed.

All that said, I'm anxious to see the last two episodes of the season. I predict one more building up episode followed by a finale where lots and lots of people die. I'm betting that at least some of the following die: Carol, Hershel, Sophie, Judith, Glenn (even though he was around for a while longer in the comics), Andrea, and/or Merle. I'm also now convinced that Milton's death is soon to come, though I originally thought he was going to be taken into Team Rick. Obviously, the Governor is unlikely to survive much longer. Basically, the only ones I think we can assume we'll probably still be seeing in the next season are Rick, Michonne, Daryl, and probably Maggie. Out of everyone else, I think it's safe to say a lot of them aren't gonna be around two episodes from now. I have this feeling they're gonna take out Sophie and Judith in a manner similar to how Lori and Judith died in the comics.

^Well the actor that plays Milton has signed on to another series...so rumor has it he won't be around too much longer.

If they kill Glenn I will just plain stop watching the show.

A short time ago I wouldn't have thought they would, but the sudden reconciliation between him and Maggie has me rethinking that stance. Having them back together before killing him off would add to the dramatic effect.

I agree though, don't want him to go. So hopefully I'm wrong :p

Is there even a way for this serie to end barring the chance that all the living persons die?

Even at this point in season three they already anticipate going up to a sixth season at least.

Someone brought up an interesting question on another forum I visit. They wondered if the Governor had gotten bitten while he was being attacked by all those walkers. It would be way more realistic if he had been because his miraculous unscathed escape is just so far fetched. Especially since the dude only has one eyeball!

Considering what he managed to survive in the comics, I bet he's just fine. Also if he had been bitten he wouldn't have been able to survive to take Andrea back to Woodbury, would he? That is, without amputation.

And finally, a gunfight that actually seemed to flow somewhat realistically (within the context of a world filled with zombies). A one man flank that didn't seem faked for the sake of making it cinema friendly. I enjoyed that. Hopefully whatever happens in next week's fight, however it goes down, is somewhat rational as well instead of the typical randomized movie gunfight choreography.

So sad since he started to really redeem himself. I knew his fate though as soon as he refused to go back with Michonne. It was still brutal though both emotionally and physically. David Morrissey plays the creepy evil guy way too well. He really did a number on Merle before finally offing him. And Darryl finding Merle....so sad.:(

Loved the scene with Michonne fighting off the zombies while being tied up.

I'm glad Rick finally came to his senses but it was still ridiculous that he even entertained the idea of giving up Michonne in the first place. It looked like even Carl was disappointed in his father's stupidity.

I don't want it to end next week!!!

Agree on all of this. I was swearing at Rick for the first 20 minutes because of his offering up Michonne. I thought it was good that Merle called him out for that as well. (Although I had hoped that Merle would simply tell him how naive he was being to entertain that the Governor was ever going to leave anyone at the prison alone.)

I love Michonne more every episode. It was awesome seeing how cool she played it even after being taken captive by Merle. It was so great to watch her getting into his head.

I agree with you there. Seems to be a double-standard.

An article in Rolling Stone indicates 27 characters will be killed in the season finale.

OMG another great show! I was shocked to see Merle as a zombie and so sad that Daryl had to find him that way and do him in. Great acting and really got the emotions involved. The finale will be awesome I am sure! But then a long wait til the new season. :(
I am going to read the comic books in the meantime. :D
