TV & Film The Walking Dead

This is by no means an objective rule, but I usually go with a "week after" policy for spoilers. I think it's a good balance between immediately spoiling people before they get the chance to catch up, and holding out on discussion way too long.

TWD is shown about 2 in the early Monday morning over here now so I assume I will read spoilers if I look anywhere before I've seen it.

I usually watch TWD on Monday afternoon so I know not to check the VV thread before then, I assume people will only be talking about the most recent episode (or past episodes) and everything else about future episodes in spoilers?

I accidentally saw a spoiler right before watching the episode, so I already knew that Negan would kill two people. I already figured they would kill Glen, but I wasn't expecting Abraham to die too.

Did anyone else notice how stoic Carl was? I wonder if he was in shock or if he's just less disturbed than other people because of his age. He likely doesn't remember much about how the world used to be.

I suppose you would adapt to it, and maybe even come off as being cold to it, when you've more less grew up in a world like that. Carl was such a small child when everything went to hell.

Ok, I don't know how that happened but I guess it's appropriate. Lol

Agreed. If you haven't seen the show after a week and you're still poking your nose in here and expecting no spoilers, get real. These days you'd pretty much have to sever the internet connection and lock yourself up in your basement to not accidentally come upon something the day after an episode premiere or finale' of this magnitude.

Well I guess that's better than their usual cries of "take it off TV! Cancel the show!"

I also don't see how the violence is "replacing" storytelling. The violence is a huge part of the storytelling because that's the world they live in, and it changes who they are. They can't look away from it, so why should we be able to look away from it?

Question for the comic readers:

Do you think AMC will keep the scene where Carl tries to kill Negan?

Yeah I believe they will have Carl try to take matters into his own hands, but maybe not quite the way it happens in the comic due to the fact in this time frame Carl was much younger than our TV Carl... But yeah, I think something will happen involving Carl going after Negan, because he thinks his dad is being submissive to Negan.

Why can't people just parent their children instead? Controversial view, I know.:D

The comment below that article made me laugh.:p

How about your own parental control, if you're that concerned maybe you shouldn't have your kids watching that show. Stop putting the responsibility of what your kids do or see on everything else and do your job as a parent. Stop f*cking whining and being sensitive pr*cks and do some work as a parent, I mean seriously who doesn't know that TWD has violence the title alone would make me want to check before I let my kids watch. This is just laziness and lack of parenting who instead of doing their job at home want to ruin everyone else's happiness. Get a grip a**holes!

Sooooo soooo offensive to be expected to do parenting stuffs all by themselves... That filth shouldn't be on the tube for anybody to see! Lmao, they're morons. This isn't the first time conservative groups have protested TWD.

The internet should also ban pornography forever because little Johnny might see it one day.

I really do loath censorship of creativity and expression. Maybe I'm silly, but it really bugs me that as a group of primarily adults we can't say f*ck and variants on this forum... Sometimes I feel very defiant and have to drop a fück, fúck, or fùck just to spite IS, our oppressor :P

I haven't seen this Batman film, but I saw that Maggie and Negan played his parents. Weird, haha.

Maggie and Negan were both in the show Supernatural too.

There was a government idea a few years ago here, where the government wanted people to tell their internet providers if they wanted to access adult content. This was meant to stop children seeing porn online. It was amazing how many people seem to think this was a good idea. Didn't parents realise that there is porn on the internet and that maybe they should be monitoring what their children are looking at online? I kept asking people why they would need the government to tell them to put up the family-friendly filters in their own homes. I don't think I ever got an answer to that question.:D

I also think parents should be the censors of their own children not anyone else! I don't know why parents would let young kids watch TWD any damn way. I surely wouldn't allow my children under 12 (or maybe 10 depending on the kid) to watch it. When my kids were young, I censored what they watched. Take responsibility people!
