TV & Film The Walking Dead

In the event of a zombie attack, the conservative parents will be the first to die. They'll be too busy covering their children's eyes to properly kill any of the zombies.

ETA: Kinda like how all the kids on TWD died except for Carl and that Alexandrian chick. The ones that the parents "protected" from the violence didn't last very long.

It also annoys me that so many people have hated on Carl. Last time I checked, I'm pretty sure that it's normal for kids to be bratty and annoying. At least he had his heart in the right place: wanting to contribute to the group. Unlike that crazy Lizzy chick who killed her own sister. Or that Sam kid who got his entire family killed. Good job, Sam!!

ETA: Actually now that I think of it, Sam's idiot older brother is the one to blame. It's his fault the walkers got into the house in the first place.

I've never understood that either. Typical teenager in ways, and someone who has been forced to grow up very quickly as well...

I'm glad they did the Lizzy/Meka, Billy/Ben parallel... I just don't like how they led into it... It robbed Carl's character of development, you reading up as far as you have in the comic you probably follow exactly what I mean.

I know exactly what part you mean. I didn't read the comic version until the TV version had already aired, so I can't help but love that scene with Carol. That episode blew me away.

What do you think about the way they're portraying Negan?

Well, not exactly how I had envisioned it. For some reason I imagine Negan with like, a Jersey accent maybe, and a little more funny lol... Don't get me wrong though, I think JDM is doing a fantastic job. I just imagined it a bit more.... Well, Negan seems to be... gleeful?

I haven't read anything negative about Carl either.:)

I also think parents should be the censors of their own children not anyone else! I don't know why parents would let young kids watch TWD any damn way. I surely wouldn't allow my children under 12 (or maybe 10 depending on the kid) to watch it. When my kids were young, I censored what they watched. Take responsibility people!

Exactly. I find TWD quite scary and I'm an adult.:D

The type of people who use the argument about protecting children (and it usually doesn't make any sense!) always make me think of Helen Lovejoy from The Simpsons. Won't somebody please think of the children!:p

I didn't like Carl, initially, but I definitely do now. I think he's developed into a good character. My daughter, however, can't stand him. I should ask her what her issue is with him.

The women in the fitness group I used to go to all hated Carl. I remember asking "how could you hate Carl??" and the one chick exploded and yelled at me that he's entitled. I just argued back that he's the only kid who can actually use a gun, and she didn't know what to say to that.

It doesn't matter really, Carl is a permanent fixture :D It's not like he's going anywhere, probably *ever*

Yeah, I also told the girls that according to Kirkman, it's going to eventually be Carl's story. Bwahahaha. Deal with it! lol

I've heard that too, but I thought it was a rumor. I didn't know that it came from Kirkman himself

Exactly this. It's not 100% how I imagined Negan in my head but I think it's a perfectly good interpretation and they're doing his character justice.

I've always pictured Negan sounding kind of like cr1tikal... sort of detached and calm despite the massive amount of emotion his language is expressing. Also capable of being very loud without actually shouting, unless he's flying off the handle at the moment.

JDM doesn't exactly do that, but he captures the menace and charisma of Negan very well.

Yep. Very typical for a kid and he's handled it so well. It's interesting seeing him adjust to the world as it is now.

On the other hand, fans' hatred of Lori still makes perfect sense to me. Mostly because I think the writers really messed her character up.

I think the original show runner made a lot of bad mistakes, from casting to the writing. As I said before, Andrea was totally ruined right out of the gate, as was Lori. Alan, Donna, Billy and Ben not being casted was a head scratching ordeal too since they were a big part of the early story telling, all the way through the prison and of course the Billy/Ben climax on the road to D.C. Scott Gimple inherited a real mess when he took over, and had to clean up the best he could. You also had the actor who played Dale quitting because of the original show runner getting canned. People yell that the first couple seasons with the original show runner were better, but damn! The people with no previous knowledge of TWD they just don't know. I would have loved to of seen the stuff at Wittmore Estates play out on the TV screen. Such a let down... I'm just glad that the last two or three seasons have been so faithful to the source.

I'm excited to go forward, now that the last episode is done with. Don't worry, I'm not expecting any Hallmark moments, lol. I'm just not as angst ridden as I was to have the season premiere over with.

I'm curious to see what happens between Daryl and Dwight (that's his name, right? can't remember it right now). I also want to see how the people back at Alexandria react when they hear the news.
