Literature What are you currently reading?

I'm reading the Hap and Leonard books by Joe R. Lansdale. I'm also catching up with Sara Paretsky's books from the last decade or so (just hadn't read her most recent ones), and am also reading Barbara Kingsolver's newest.

I'm about to dive back into Roddy Doyle's 'A Star Called Henry.' I've read it once but want to go through the first two in the three book series dubbed 'The Last Roundup' . I'm getting my Irish up. Doyle is the freaking bomb.

I'll let you know when I get done with it. I'm a ***** for all things Einstein, so I can't claim to absolute objectivity.

Just finished Why Have Kids? by Jessica Valenti Absolutely life-changing. Should be required reading for life. Will shape the way me (and my future husband eventually) parent our adopted children.

Starting The Ground Beneath Her Feet by Salman Rushdie.

This week I have read Stay Close by Harlan Coben (I usually like his books but this wasn't up to scratch) and Hurting Distance by Sophie Hannah. It is a psychological thriller and I didn't guess the ending which is always a bonus for me.:D I'm about to start reading Lasting Damage which is also by Sophie Hannah.

I've just finished Einstein's Dreams and it is, without a doubt, my new favorite book. Using peoples' lives as a backdrop to explain the different theories of time really communicates what each of them mean. There is also a heavy philosophical and melancholy tone to the book that I find very appealing. Lastly, I like that it's a book that doesn't overstay it's welcome by dragging on endlessly (like time).
The problem I have now is what to follow such an excellent read with. Maybe I should finally start the Game of Thrones series and see what all the fuss is about.

Just finished Murder Most Fab by Julian Clary. It was quite a good read...Quite a lot of gay sex in there, but what do you expect.:D

I'm reading For One More Day, Essex County, Tenth of December, and Life of Pi (which I'm actually only a page or so in, but still :p ). I was also reading The Fault in Our Stars but I just finished that today.
EDIT: also Paper Towns

Moon Over Soho, sequel to the Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch.

Hum, every other page has a joke about how LOLOLOL GIRLS ARE SILLY/SEXY/USE TOILETRIES LOLOLOL

But otherwise, it's about a policeman who is a WIZARD. So it wins there. Also it captures London the way Neverwhere didn't quite manage.

Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity by Julia Serano

I've read snippets here and there and this promises to be absolutely brilliant and eye-opening.
