Literature What are you currently reading?

I was reading I would die 4 u by Toure who is a columnist for Time.com. and also apparently a Prince fan.I was very surprised to find out Prince was religious. The book said he would be provocative to draw people in then start preaching religion at his concerts.Weirdo_O But anyway I like music so I try to find a lot of different biographies of musicians to learn as much as I can cause I enjoy it!

Yay reading hat back on since i dont have to study at the moment :D

Most of What The Dog Saw by Malcolm Gladwell. Really interesting.

Had been sitting on The Last Werewolf for ages. Turns out it's awesome. Waiting for the sequel which seems to have got lost in the post :(

Gone Girl. The book to read this summer. Turns out it's really quite good :)

Just started Neil Gaiman's new book, The Ocean at the End of the Lane. If, you're like me and terrified of small holes, avoid chapter 5.

Trying to read chapter 5:

Slavoj Zizek's Violence. Mostly brilliantly incoherent ramblings, a smattering of 'old jokes', obviously interesting film theory and some real awesome thought-provoking nuggets of truth.

Life on Planet Rock by Lonn Friend. It's the author's experience of being a rock journalist in the 80's.Bunch of rock trivia and the author's take on numerous musicians. He also ran a metal magazine called RIP.Fascinating book!

Beautifully Unique Sparkleponies: On Myths, Morons, Free Speech, Football, and Assorted Absurdities - Chris Kluwe

How is it? I like Slash.
Oh, it's pretty good. It's just basically his life story and what he experienced while in the band. How and why it all went right than wrong. His drug addiction, women, relationships with various people. How he learned to play guitar was not how you would expect him to learn. If you are a fan I would read it.:)

Thanks, I'll add it to my list.

Just finished A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin

I don't know about it. I liked it, it was OK but I'm not fussed about reading the rest of the series. Which is strange for me because normally when I start a series, even if I think it's rubbish (I'm looking at you 50 shades :brood: ) , I have to finish it. But I can't really be bothered with a song of ice and fire.
I don't know why.

If I find the second book going in a charity shop I'll get it but I'm not going to bother otherwise.

Power Foods by Neal Barnard.I'm only half way through. The section about metals was very informative.I had no idea his parents became so ill.

"A Clash of Kings" and "Raising Your Spirited Child"

I had been putting off the Game of Thrones books for years, waiting for the series to be complete so I could read it all at once, then they had to go ahead and make the tv version. Now I am trying to keep ahead of where they are on tv to avoid spoilers (and failing...I don't read much lately).

Holy wow. I'm still reading A Clash of Kings, over a year later. Well that's embarrassing.

Am also working on American Gods (re-read)

I always thought that stories about circus life can be interesting. Last circus story that I saw was the movie version of Water for Elephants. Unfortunately, I never read the novel.

I just finished reading Lucid Dreaming: A Concise Guide to Awakening in Your Dreams and in Your Life by Stephen Laberge. I really want to figure out how to do this on a regular basis.

I loved that book! I kept missing my stop on the tube reading it, I was so engrossed and grossed out.

Lately I've been reading a gorgeous comic called Saga. Finished the trade paperbacks, then downloaded the latest issue. I hate reading comics that are still in production because it's the worst having to wait for the next issue which is never long enough.

Also been reading Glen Duncan's werewolf books; the Last Werewolf and Talulla Rising. They are graphic, there is brutality, there is not very nice sex. But they're great, THIS is the crap I love.

Also just finished The Hours, which Id thrown down in a rage a few years ago after one chapter. I'd tried to read it too close to Mrs Dalloway, which meant it read like Virginia Woolf fan fiction, which meant it read like ****. But actually with enough distance, it's quite beautiful.

Now reading Virginia Woolf's selected diaries. Taking a lot of joy out of the floppiness of the book, flappy flap the American style floppiness of it. Also, super jealous, I hate people who can write so well sometimes. It's just not fair.
