I am still only halfway through State of Terror, however, I just had to echo @Chryssie on the intensity and scariness - at one point late yesterday afternoon I was actually crying - they quoted Einstein 'I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.' and it just reminded me how that although so many of us are wonderful amazing people and most of humanity is, there are also people out there who behave awfully and with willful cruelty and selfishness and money grubbiness.... we are now seeing it live every day and that is just what is visible... my honey reminded me that we have to be good selves and not let the sorrow overwhelm us - "this too shall pass" seems a trite thing to say however it is true and we will prevail or we will go down a terrible rabbit hole and hope that the next emanation is better...

Just finished "The Boys from Biloxi" by John Grisham. This was a story than spanned decades from the 60's through the 80's. It is about two families in Biloxi, Mississippi on opposite sides of the law. Lots of detail and history of organized crime in this city near the gulf coast. It was a little bit of a slow read but the story of the two boys who grew up best friends and turned to adversaries was fascinating.

@Chryssie I grew up with country music, along with other kinds, and I remember the song "Ringo"; it has a similar plot. It was performed by Lorne Greene (who starred in that long-running TV show, "Bonanza", which I didn't care for that much but it was always on in our house. I liked him better in "Battlestar Galactica" 👾👽 ).

Liked the recomendation for Blake Crouch--library was out of everything of his but Recursion, which I got on audiobook. I finished it in two days, as I was on loan to another dept at work which was crazy boring assembly! Pretty good. I have a terrible way of wanting books to go my way, but it was still alright, but I have a ton of criticism

I loved Lorne Greene in Battlestar Galactica!! My dad loves Bonanza, lol. He watches the reruns on Me TV every day. :D.
I'm still not reading much, but I really want to get back into it.

Bonanza used to be shown over here in the 1980s. I think it was on Sundays.

I just finished "Death by Chocolate Chip Cupcake" by Sarah Graves which is part of a cozy mystery series. It was a fast read but it got a little complicated and I didn't like it as well as the first book I read in the series. Of course our crime solving bakers get involved in a murder mystery at a creepy haunted mansion when they cater the dessert for a party hosted by an aging film star. The guests start ending up dead and all kinds of chaos happens.

Read another Robert Dugoni called "Wrongful Death". This one is about a widow suing the government over her soldier husband's death in Iraq. The book was published in 2009 and takes place during the Iraq war. Lots of detail about the military and military law. A very involved case with lots of intrigue.
