News 2016 U.S. Presidential election - the highs and lows

I'd love to see a good old-fashioned floor fight at both conventions. It's something the delegates haven't done in decades, and I kinda miss that. It at least makes watching convention coverage more fun.

Unfortunately, however, it's a thing of the past. The candidates will be officially selected by the time the conventions roll out.

Vice-chair of the DNC, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, resigns, endorses Bernie Sanders.

ETA: Gabbard, BTW, is a vegetarian.

“Do you want to be associated with a fascist?” NBC’s Chuck Todd asked the leading contender for the GOP presidential nomination.
“No, I want to be associated with interesting quotes,” Trump replied. “And people, you know, I have almost 14 million people between Instagram and Facebook and Twitter and all of that. And we do interesting things. And I sent it out. And certainly, hey, it got your attention, didn’t it?”

OK, having actually read the quote in question, I now think this was much more innocent than how some in the media are trying to spin it:

"It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep."

Though, I would perhaps expect a politician from Trump's generation, especially one aiming for president, to recognize "ilduce" as Il Duce, the title Mussolini gave himself.

Well, I think he is imagining it as something like those scenes from the movie "World War Z"
