News 2016 U.S. Presidential election - the highs and lows

I think what bothers me most is, the friends and family I consider to be smart, rational, decent people...how can they see him as presidential material? It's all too absurd. It's way beyond just wanting to vote strictly political party. How does one not cringe whenever the man opens his mouth? He's so offensive. IMO, of course. Sorry to anyone here that may be a supporter.

I don't love Hilary and I still don't know if I will go the route of voting for her to squash Trump or take Wolfie's stance and vote third party. Several people at work are advocating for that. I'm so confused so keep the conversation going...maybe it will help by the time November rolls around. Wahhh...I don't like this.

Last I saw Johnson was polling at 15% in the Midwest. He needs 15% to get into the debates so hopefully the rest of the country catches up. I would love to see him be heard on the national level. He's had CNN interviews and such but it's not the same as the debates.

I would love for him to be in the debates too. I think Hillary would wipe the floor with both of them. :D

You should want him in there because it's the only fair way to do it. It's an uphill climb because most of the polls don't even give him as a choice. I don't like either half of the Clump but don't think they should be excluded.

I can understand why he wouldn't be invited. There is no way he's going to win and he'll just use up time that's needed for the other two candidates to answer questions.

Why doesn't he arrange for a 3rd party debate with Stein and whoever else is running and wants to be included?

To be included in a presidential debate, a candidate must be polling at 15 percent in five mainstream news polls.
In addition to being Constitutionally eligible, candidates must appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to have a mathematical chance of winning a majority vote in the Electoral College, and have a level of support of at least 15 percent of the national electorate as determined by five selected national public opinion polling organizations.

The only reason I don't want Gary Johnson included, is because I want Donald Trump to open his mouth as much as possible.

If it's a truly free election all candidates should be invited. Especially candidates that will be on the ballot in all 50 states. It shouldn't be based on who you think has a chance. Or who has all the $$$$$. Just like Bernie shouldn't have had to run as a
Democrat to even have a chance. I am not a Bernie fan but he was totally screwed. The system is so messed up in this country.

More and more people are tired of the 2-party monopoly so I am optimistic things will change. If not this year then maybe in 2020.

Now if only mainstream polls would give all the candidates as a choice, maybe he'd have the amount required by now. My friend was polled and said Gary Johnson and was told so many people in our state had asked for him that they added him to the poll. But not all polls do this. They only ask if you would vote for Dumb or Dumber, or in some cases "other". It's BS. The 2 major parties don't want competition. Must be afraid of it for some reason.

I'm beginning to think Trump does not want to be President so he's saying a load of crazy stuff. He'd rather be making money (or losing it) then spending 4 years stuck in the White House and having every thing he says and his tax returns picked apart by 1,000s of journalists. The Trump name is getting lots of free air time now so that will good for buisness down the road.

Trump is never going to release his tax returns. Not now, and not if he were to become president.
