TV & Film Movie Lounge

Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy, vol 2. Once again, Marvel Studios is kicking ***. Very funny.

If you do go see it, be sure to stick around for the credits. ALL of them. They decided to go for some sort of record on this one for most "after the credits" scenes in one movie.

More than two stingers this time??

Saw John Wick - Chapter 2 yesterday.
Hmm, was not too impressed.
Predictably cool Keanu Reeves, predictably simple story with lots of gratuitous violence and some plot holes.
After watching it, I remembered that this would also be a good characterization of the first John Wick movie. Meh.

I finally watched Get Out last weekend and I know I am so behind but... INCREDIBLE one of the best movies I have seen in a while. Honestly blown away. 9/10

Guardians of the Galaxy 2! :clp:Beginning to end! Theatre worthy-if your theatre has comfy seats at least
Can't wait for Wonder Woman now. And there's a Kingsmen 2 coming

I finally watched Get Out

I have been thinking and thinking about that one, too .... but ... my wife is rather timid, and some of the things I read in the "parent's guide" section on IMDB do not sound too, well, appetizing ... so up to now, we have not seen this.

So ... is there a lot of gore/unpleasant scenes for an average moviegoer?

Hayvenhurst - Don't waste your time, it was terrible. The storyline had potential, but this movie looked like it was a bunch of partial scenes strung together, kind of like a novel written in nothing but sentence fragments.

Have also watched Wonder Woman by now, nice, but well, guess I am not the most ardent fan of the superhero genre.
Just too much of superpower brawling instead of a good storyline. Think the only ones I really like are the Batman and Iron Man movies...

What did you think of that film? I was planning to watch that but there were quite a few bad reviews.
Not great. Not the worst. It held my attention for the duration. LOL **shrug** Just be prepared for the predictable predictability. :p

Not a terrible flick, this genre is so formulaic though.... What can ya do?

I just rented it because I started looking in the 2/$1 rentals, starting with A.... LOL

Truth be told, it doesn't stick in my memory, just bits & pieces... one of those things that's easily forgotten, even right after you see it... I think the trailers beforehand were the best part, frankly.

Meanwhile, Hidden Figures is on full playback in my head... awesome flick!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The four cheapie rentals are due back today. Hidden Figures is due tomorrow... and Jer started it last night, he must finish tonight. But I'll be renting a couple/few more when I leave... I'll start in the D & E sections, see what that gets me.... ;)

I just watched "Batman vs Superman" because Wonder Woman makes her debut in that film. I knew it had bad reviews, but damn. I had a really hard time following the storyline. I thought it was strange and convoluted. Still enjoyed that one scene, though.

Superman: This "thing" is from another world. My world.
Wonder Woman: I've killed things from other worlds before.
*Wonder Woman draws her sword*
Superman (to Batman): Is she with you?
Batman: I thought she was with you!
