The Emoji Movie. The worst movie of the year? This film critic probably thinks so.

Do not see The Emoji Movie
Yet another movie I will never, ever watch. I was just reading a local review for it. This cracked me up....
the burden of time’s passage has rarely felt so existentially distressing than when watching “The Emoji Movie.” What else could I have been doing instead of tolerating these 86 minutes of lazy non-jokes, brazen product placement and hopelessly misguided messages about individuality? Anything. Anything at all.
'The Emoji Movie' review: Save yourself, skip this cynical dreck

Have just watched "Cars 3" with my kids, and it was nice ... not spectacular, like some critiques make it out to be IMO, but ok.

Guess the movie's emphasis on "Rural small town USA values" makes it less interesting for people from other countries, who are by now thoroughly alienated.

Just watched The Circle.
Oh its so overwhelming because I could really relate to a lot of the stuff and the kind of world we are living in is so much dominated by our digital print. Must watch.

Interesting. Have looked it up on IMDB. Criticism is not very positive, guess the story is a bit meh.
Maybe only something for hard-core Emma Watson fans to watch (which I just so happen to be, so bring it on :D )

Of the latest DVD rentals.... I just (finally) watched Arrival (2016) - IMDb this evening. Yeah, it was good, it was all right.... pretty damn slow....

Not anything like a flick I stumbled upon in the 2/$1 section & still can't stop thinking about: Filth (2013) - IMDb

Wow. And whoa. If you don't dig warped sh*t once in a while, if you don't care for Kubrick or Lynch, don't waste your time. That's a warning.

Otherwise, goddamn, what a freaky ride! :weird: And bravo to James McAvoy.... helluva f*cking role. Wow.

Well, I'm intrigued ... Irvine Welsh as author makes this interesting to me, and gives me some kind of idea about the movie.
I have no idea who that is, but that man is f*cked in the head. LMAO :p In a good way.... ;)

Oh, yeah... the case said "from the creators" of Trainspotting... which I remember not caring for at all....

Gotta say, though... McAvoy's performance alone is worth a viddy. And James Broadbent has a very amusing Clockwork Orange-ish recurring cameo. :D

Arrival is a great movie for people who like movies like Arrival. I am one of those people.
Fair enough. My best friend in the universe also liked it quite a bit, so you can't be all bad.... ;)

I liked it. I just think it could've been paced a bit better.

Also, the aliens look like :cthulhu: LOL :p

I quite liked Trainspotting. Must confess, I tried to read it first, and could just not get around the language.
Have not yet decided whether to watch "Trainspotting T2", possibly will have to watch the first one again, as I last watched it in the movie theatre when it came out, some 20 years ago...

Cinemaxx is offering something like this in Germany (and likely other countries), but the monthly price is more like 35 USD.
But then, to be clear, it already costs about 20 USD for a single trip to the cinema (just the ticket, no food etc.) here in Germany.

So, have watched "The Circle" yesterday. (To be precise, I watched about half of it).

What can I say ... the movie serves as good proof that even great actors (Tom Hanks, Emma Watson - arguably) can not rescue a bad script.

Obviously the book was written by a guy called David Eggers ... I would have guessed it was by Dan Brown (another vastly overrated hack author) ... or some unknown 12-year-old. Quite pathetic, IMO.

So, if you're an Emma Watson fan like myself ... watch "The Beauty and the Beast" again instead, or any Harry Potter movie...

I found the movie Rememory free on Google play, at least today, 8-26. I never heard of it, but it stars Peter Dinklage so, yeah I'm gonna watch!
Anyway, I hadn't thought about so many free downloads there!
