Have you seen the first two? I had heard is wasn't that scary, too. I don't like scary so I put it on my list just to see what all the buzz was about.

A projector? like the ones that take movie reels? That seems odd in the day of 5K TVs. And they are noisy. and I imagine movies are expensive.

Yes. I have seen the first two films. I think the first one is the best by far.

The projector is good, it is just a mini projector that you point towards a blank wall to watch.

I have a problem with TV screens triggering migraines so we bought that instead of a new TV when our last one broke. the projector was only £55 too.

Oh shoot. of course. why was I thinking of a projector using a reel. No one uses those anymore.

That is weird with the migraine thing. You think it has to do with how the light is reflected instead of coming right at you.

^I'm on my phone so can't quote. The first horror film in the trilogy is called X. It is about a film crew making a porn film and it goes rather badly! All the three films are very watchable.

I read on Reddit that quite a few ppl have issues with certain TV screens. Saying that I saw the film Twisters the other day and it had the warning about photosensitivity and I was fine.

I'm not sure... but I think those warnings are not about the TV screens but the strobing effects that the movie contains. As you probably know sometimes strobing can trigger epilepsy episodes for certain people.
however those same strobing effects can effect people without epilepsy too. Like headaches and nausea.

It is very annoying. I can't watch one of my own TVs now as I get a reaction. I have it at an angle in my bedroom and only listen to music on it as I can't look directly at it. I got a letter from the neurologist who said they didn't think I have epilepsy, "just" severe migraines.

I had a really bad reaction to the film Creed 3. It was extra annoying as it was my birthday weekend and I had to travel home from London afterwards as I felt too ill to go the concert I had planned to go to.

I read a good review about the movie Arcadian starring Nicholas Cage yesterday so we might watch that later. We have ordered a white projector screen as well as it is meant to be better than a blank wall.

I watched Back to the Future last night with Mrs Summer and our daughter. It's one of Mrs Summer's all-time favourite movies, but to our disappointment it did not impress the jaded next generation

I then suggested that next weekend we could watch Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail which is one of my all-time favourites, but this was vetoed

I would start with "The Life of Brian". However, as students don't learn Latin any more at school, one of the best parts will be lost...

The new ones work on the same basic principle as the old ones (projecting an image on a white area) but the technology has moved from a lamp shining through physical celluloid movies to LEDs which project the picture.

At work we used that kind of projector all the time. And I knew that they were much cheaper now.

Last night I watched "Mad Max: Furiosa". I thought it started off kind of slow and boring and I was afraid I was going to be disappointed but it picked up and the last half was really good and exciting. Nothing can top "Fury Road" IMHO but this one was pretty darn good!

I watched Please Stand By. I'm sure I have seen it before but I hadn't remembered when I started it and for the most part it was like I hadn't seen it before. This has happened with old movies - but this movie came out in 2017 so it has been maybe 6 years since I have seen it. I guess I'm getting senile.

But I enjoyed it thoroughly. The actresses all did an amazing job. IMDB gave it a 6.7 but I think it deserves at least a 7.

I finished watching "Dune Part One" tonight. I started it last night but then my brother called and I had to stop watching it. Now I have to watch Part Two. I read all the Dune books a very very long time ago and did see the first movie which I didn't really like much. I thought the movie started out slow but improved to be pretty good. I watched it because Colin told me Dune Two was really good. I don't remember much about the story since I read the books so long ago.
