Supper/Dinner Time! What's on the menu ?

yum last night we had the last of the Future Farm burgers, that we had (it is getting almost impossible to get them) and went the unhealthy route and picked up some french fries to do in the oven, added a few shreds of cheese (poutine), fried onions on the fries and also mushroom grave - on the burger put mustard, ketchup, pickles, onion and sliced tomato, a few shreds of cheez and a couple of picked jalapeno - so good!!

Two days ago, I had vegetable biryani; yesterday, I had samosas with potatoes and veggies. Not home cooked, as I was travelling- so more processed (with refined rice, the first; and refined flour, the second), saltier and oilier than I would prefer, so will try to compensate in coming days (as the diversion from home cooked routine is showing on the scale :-)

I was going to have my last night's leftovers for dinner, but instead will have that for lunch and have fresh local corn on the cob for dinner tonight. Yum! The leftover corn niblets will go into my one-pot Mexi stew for tomorrow.

Yesterday I had an improvised salad with red/pinto beans, raw broccoli florets, raw carrots and raw beetroots, mixed with leftover cooked vegetables. Dressing: light soy sauce and tahini. All good.

For dessert: a mix of dried fruits and nuts. All good too

Good time. Vegan food has appeared everywhere over the last few weeks - we recently visited Chicago and managed to eat no meat whatsoever while there, which was not too surprising, but still fantastic. Then, more surprisingly, the local State Fair this year featured more vegan food than we could possibly eat for the first time ever. Completely unexpected. Then just tonight we ate at a "Vegan Burger Joint" that had fantastic all plant-based "burgers" that looked and pretty much tasted like the real thing... but it wasn't the real thing. I think if meat eaters were given this restaurant's "burgers," they would have no idea that no animals were harmed in the making. A fantastic experience that I hope to repeat again very soon.
