TV & Film The TV Room

My wife and I just watched "Goliath" with Billy Bob Thornton and Willian Hurt on Amazon Prime and were hugely disappointed.

Granted, good actors and a few interesting twists, however, as a courtroom drama, it hugely sucked.

Seems to me one of those movies / series where my impression after watching is that the general plan was "Let's get a few hugely popular actors to make it a hit. The intern can write the script, it will be fine"

And that is quite disappointing, as there are a few great courtroom series out there, especially the older David E. Kelley series like "The Practice" or even "Boston Legal" (which was a comedy series, but as far as the legal aspect is concerned, possibly more believable than "Goliath".

We've watched the whole first season of The Designated Survivor now. It started off really well, but it got worse! Those writers used a pretty lame set of tools and cliffhangers to keep their audience glued, I have to say. And there were quite a few lame lines too. ("I just did my duty, sir.") Still ... It was entertaining, I guess!

I'm not really sure where this should be posted as it's a series, but not on TV. It's a Netflix original series.

The Santa Clarita Diet. Gory, but funny. Looking forward to season 2.

Have just watched season two of " The man in the high Castle "and really enjoyed it.

Good continuation of the story!
