TV & Film The Walking Dead

Yeah I was totally like, "Hitler anyone?"

But really it's not surprising that they would follow him like that, they have been living that way for ages and I'm sure the ones who questioned his leadership methods long ago disappeared. And they don't know what's going on, as far as they know some people came into their town and killed some of their people.

Still, angry mobs are very creepy.

So if Andrea sleeps with a regular dude, do you think he'll become a psycho?
In the comic she sleeps with Rick much later on so, if that ends up happening in the show, let's hope not. Unless, of course, you already consider Rick to be a bit on the psychotic side, in which case never mind :/

I read about things that happened in the comic and it made me very sad about what might happen to some of my favorite characters. :(

Can I be on your side during the apocalypse? Please???
Sure. My plan is to take a few groups to fortify a number of the hot springs within the Rockies and parts of Alaska and to use those hot springs to create naturally heated structures that can be used as greenhouses in climates that will offer at least seasonal protection from zombies (assuming they freeze). During the winter months when zombie activity should be to a minimum I'll take raiding parties down from the Rockies into nearby cities to scavenge for supplies and maybe pick up a survivor here and there. When it warms up, we'll focus on growing enough food for the year and reenforcing the fortifications. From there, we'll expand as the zombie hordes start to thin out over the years. The zombie apocalypse is gonna be a blast I promise.

In the comic? Hell yeah. In the show? Naw, I'd say "damaged" rather than psychotic.

OMG. You really have thought this through, haven't you?

My best plan before was to find a school, or a shopping mall, but now I'm investing in hot springs.

Nice. I pretty much already in the rockies, so pick me up on the way, eh?

My plan was to just kill zombies everyday until I cleared out my little town. I'm thinking my weapon of choice will be a captive bolt gun (fitting, right?) and I'll wear an gore cloak to walk amongst them unseen and some kind of armor on my extremities (arms, shoulders and neck primarily, that's what the zombies tend to go for) and just pop em in the head one after another, systematically.

The only problem is even doing that full time it would be years to clear out even a moderate sized town. :sigh: And it would be totally depressing. But it's nice to have something to occupy your time, even during the zombie Apocalypse.

For a home base I think some people somewhere in a high enclosed chain link fence, because it's not that hard to stab them in the eye through a fence like that, constant guard to just down them when they show up, the bodies might pile up but doing a regular sweep to move and burn them would keep things mostly sanitary.

I've also considered an island.

Also, in the case that a true zombie apocalypse (reanimation of the dead) took the world by storm, it's doubtful that the zombies would survive for very long. They might be terribly effective at destroying civilization for a year or so, but by the time winter (or summer, really) got to them, as well as starvation from not really having people left (or extincting the larger animals that they apparently feed on), they would be wiped out.

Assuming, of course, that the virus doesn't work the way it does in TWD. If it did, there could still be indefinite periods of zombie outbreaks, though humanity would come to accept it as normal and learn to deal with it.

This is impressive! That being said, you took me into your group pretty quickly - how do you know I will be able to contribute? I mean, though there are a few humans I'd like to practice on, I've never killed anybody! o_O Either way - you made a good choice. I know a few keen magic tricks and can play guitar - I'll be the group entertainer.

We don't all have to be raiding towns or killing things. We need to build the fortifications, we need to tend to the greenhouses, and yes, a little entertainment never hurts :)

I imagine when the zombie apocalypse hits, the networks will go down so we won't be able to watch The Walking Dead anymore. Where will we get our zombie fix? I wouldn't want people to get bored and start rebelling.

I imagine we'll be getting our zombie fix live and in person at that point. :p

Here is my resume.

Pardon my shameless self-promotion.

Is that a zombie at :07? It just occurred to me that the zombie apocalypse will be the perfect time to make music videos or movies with zombies in them, because you don't even have to pay the actors, and real zombies look really realistic.

Awesome video Dedalus! Very impressive. You are really talented.

Sunday nights won't be the same without The Walking Dead. February is too far away.

By the end of season 2 I really liked Andrea's character. I still really want to like her now but it's frustrating seeing the way she fawns over the governor, who so obviously has been manipulating her (and probably many women before her) since the beginning. The only justification I can create in my head for her foolish behavior is to try to imagine how I would feel living in a time of such severe crisis, going well over a year without any sort of intimate interpersonal relationship because I was so preoccupied with survival and witnessing the death of loved ones. It would be hard not to want to be suckered into a romantic fling the first time I found myself in a place that had some sense of security and structure. I do hope she snaps out of it though, especially now that the **** is really hitting the fan with the two groups and now knowing what she knows about the governor.

I really, really want to like Andrea. She's just too big of a masochistic doorknob to allow me to stay entranced with her character for too long.

"Andrea, don't shoot him! That's clearly Darryl!"

"Andrea, don't grope that guy! He's a dick!"

"Andrea, stop running around! Stay organized and with the group!"

"Andrea, use some actual survival skills!"

"Andrea, don't sleep with him! He's a psychopath!"

"Andrea, don't attack them! They're from your group!"
