I rarely have issues with the gore on this show , but the jaw breaking was too much. Reminded me of the scene from American History X. A scene that has been seared into my memory filed under the category of "fucked up things I've seen and wish to have unseen" forever.

Could not agree more - I am with you all the way. American History X makes it difficult for me to even consider watching a movie that Edward Norton is in.

Yep it's a very powerful movie.

Hey everyone! I am very late to the Walking Dead party! I spent a week watching all the previous episodes on Netflix ... and ... ummmm...... got season 3 another way.....
I LOVE this show even though I am not a huge fan of zombies. I totally avoided this thread until I had caught up and now I am ready for Sunday's episode.

I really liked the latest episode. Michonne seemed much more human with her interactions with Karl and it was great acting all round.

I was really glad they finally let us know what happened to Morgan. Sad though... :(
And I agree Michonne showed her "gentler" side with Carl. It was an awesome episode!

Great episode! I love the character development. I enjoyed seeing this side of Michonne. It was so good to see her softer side with her guard down. Also loved her sense of humor! "The mat said Welcome"! Lol. And the rainbow cat figure . She seems much more human now. Although seeing this side of Michonne makes me even more irritated with Andrea. How could she pick the Governor over Michonne? Michonne is so cool!

Finally we get an update and appearance from Morgan. Sad story though, yet understandable.

Ok let's talk about backpack guy. Am I the only one who felt bad for that dude? That **** was cold! And then to take his stuff at the end. Not cool.

Good to see a saner Rick but I'm hoping there isn't a Michonne/Rick romance in the future. (I've heard people speculating about that.)

The backpack dude was funny for me because I was watching the episode with my mother, and she was like "what the hell!? Why aren't they going back for him?"

And then I promptly and sociopathically deconstructed the situation to illustrate the cons of doing so.

Really a good look at what kind of world they live in now.

What kind of zombies are there in this serie anyway?

Just regular slow, stupid ones?

Something can be both rational and feel wrong at the same time, and sometimes you have to go with the rational option.

That said, I look at this a few different ways:

- Given their recent experiences, new people are clearly risky. Some end up being bad, some end up being good.
- If they only lose members but never add, they will soon not have the manpower to do anything except run. Even if they find their utopian zombie free area, if they don't even have enough people left to plant some crops by that point it does them no good.
- If they turn down someone, it can be assumed that this person may seek the aid of the next group he or she comes across, and that group may be an enemy, as was the case with Tyrese and his group. Rick sent them away, now they have been recruited by the enemy, making the enemy even more dangerous than before.
- If you refuse to help someone or are hostile towards them (whether deserved or not) and they suffer as a result, there is a good chance they will be dangerous the next time you see them, as was the case with case with Andrew. He should have either let him back in or finished him off, not chased him out and then left him to the horde. A single person can completely destroy their otherwise perfect zombie wall, and in this case it cost him both Lori and T-Dog.

So right and wrong feelings aside, I see two rational options and two irrational options when dealing with other humans in zombie world.

Rational:
- Help them with the hopes that they may become a helpful member of your group.
- Kill them so they do not later become a threat.

Irrational:
- Refuse aid and let them go off into the zombie horde, bitter and in search of another group that might end up being hostile.
- Become hostile towards them, but allow them to live, knowing that a hostile living person poses an even greater danger than the zombies do since they can get guns, mess up your defenses, etc.

I personally would have picked up the guy with the backpack and brought him back to the prison, done everything I could to help him, but if he gave a sign that he was a threat put a bullet in him without hesitation.

Are animals susceptible to the infection?

The zombies do attack and eat animals, but it hasn't shown an animal coming back. If I recall, there have been a few dead animals in the show that would have been intact enough to come back, so I'd say no, animals are not susceptible.

In fact in the Walking Dead game (which follows a different group within the same overall storyline), you come across a dead dog at one point and end up having to kill the zombified kid that owned the dog, and then bury him with his dog :p

I thought it was pretty cold to leave the hitchhiker behind like that but I do understand it. I couldn't do it myself; I am a big softie and probably would not survive in a zombie apocalypse.
