TV & Film The Walking Dead

I'm with you - what a waste. Too much absinthe?

Too much something. Very disappointing though.

I don't think they will kill off Glen, although I've been told he doesn't survive in the comics. I believe he's too valuable to AMC to get rid off. Darryl also. AMC will **** off the majority of their viewers if either one of them gets zombified.

Carol's been through a lot of **** so her new attitude doesn't really surprise me all that much.

A lot of the characters were acting stupidly this week, even Daryl.:fp::p It was still a good episode though.

Well I didn't see that coming.

Looking back on it now, it does make sense that Rick had planned to ditch Carol all along. I wonder if he will tell the group the truth or lie to them. It will be interesting to see how Darryl reacts. Overall, Carol took it all really well. I hope this isn't the end of her though. Her character development has been the most dramatic imo. She's come such a far way since when we first met her.

I love how the females have all evolved into strong bad *** women compared to the earlier seasons where they were weak, whiny , and pathetic.

I didn't like this episode much. Not just because of Carol.

I was blown away at the end of that episode; really looking forward to what Rick tells the group. I have seen some interesting theories on the WD webpage. This will be interesting how this plays out. And still... WHERE is the governor? I am ready for the conclusion of the governor and the prison sagas. They need to move on with the story.

I think he'll at least tell Tyreese. If he doesn't, Tyreese will continue bugging him about finding the killer.

True.

I didn't like this episode much. Not just because of Carol.

Why not?

It was more of a character development episode instead of an action packed one. Kind of slow, but still interesting.

Except for Lori, who developed from being whiny and pathetic into being digested and then into being a ghost and then into being a phone and then ???

Ugh. Thanks for reminding me about how obnoxious she was. I really hope we've seen the last of her.

I'm not sure...maybe that's why. I was finding it hard to pay attention.

I thought it was a little slow too, but there has been lots of action so I don't mind. I think it is important to develop the characters as well as be action packed all the time.

Yeah there needs to be a good balance of both.

Agreed re: character development. Very important. And more in-depth storylines centered around select individuals. And honestly - in terms of 'action' it's a little tiring seeing all the same knife-to-the head gore scenes. I think they need to be careful about how much of that they utilize - especially at the prison gate. We get it already. At some point (after x number of episodes) it is going to get really dull. IMO it is dull already.

Now Michonne (sword) and Daryl (crossbow); that doesn't get tiring. :D

The knife thing sets off my BS alarm regarding tactical realism as well :/ I don't know if any of you were into hunting, or heck just cooking for that matter, before going veggie, but knives simply do not pass through bone like that. Even with all the cheesy action scenes out there, I'm surprised this one seems plausible to anyone. If someone were strong enough to jam a knife through a 2x4 and then pull it out cleanly without it getting stuck, then I guess I could believe it.

You make a great point. I have given them some slack since maybe the older zombies have bones that are brittle or softer. But they do the head punctures to recently dead- or (in Carol's case) to the living - with pocket knives no less - as though the skulls are like piñata's.

I don't know why people complain about lack of action. If you want to see lack of zombie killing then watch the middle part of Season 2.

I'm really just nitpicking btw. Walking Dead is presently the only show I find to be worth watching. I enjoy the action, the drama, and of course the zombies :)

That said, I've noticed another flaw (not counting the undead walking around) over the last couple episodes. They're collecting gas they come across, Daryl switches out a battery and gets a car buried in bushes running quite easily after who knows how long, Carol takes that car in the suburbs and it starts right up...

The zombie apocalypse started what... a year ago give or take a month? Highly refined petroleum products, such as the gasoline in cars, begin to break down fairly quickly if there isn't some type of stabilizer mixed in. I only know a few rednecks or car nerds that actually do this. The other 99% of the population just pumps it and drives til it's gone. In that state, left to sit, gas would be pretty much unusable in a few months.

So if any of you find yourself in a world full of zombies, don't plan on having reliable vehicles a year after civilization ends unless you had the foresight to stockpile a bunch of gas and mix in a stabilizer, in which case it might last for a couple years. Even then, it would still eventually go bad.

It's possible I just wasn't in the mood for it. As far as action goes I hide my eyes during all of the killing scenes anyway, so I don't think it's that, lol. I just felt like something was missing. Maybe I should watch it again. Sometimes I like things better the second time around.
