What do you guys think about the Puerto Rican issue? Do you think it will make much of a difference?
it doesn't have to "make much of a difference". According to everyone the race is so tight that a swing state might be won by a fraction of a percent. What do you guys think about the Puerto Rican issue? Do you think it will make much of a difference?
Nope, because many of his followers likely think the same way. Half of them probably don't know that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory. What do you guys think about the Puerto Rican issue? Do you think it will make much of a difference?
yes, I agree this is not an issue among Trumpers.Nope, because many of his followers likely think the same way. Half of them probably don't know that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory.
The Dems would have been able to choose someone else if Biden had withdrawn before the convention. But they dithered and squandered that opportunity, so when push finally came to shove, their only realistic option was the VP. Harris has had some of the worst VP favourability ratings in recent history, although I think she's doing better now as a presidential candidate. At is wasn't the Dems who choose Harris. It was Biden. And that decision was made 5 years ago. That was a campaign promise and it very well have helped him win the election the first time. Her being a female of color does give her an "electability" issue but on the other hand it does help her get some votes too.
It's tempting to blame the voters because indeed they are incredibly stupid, but those are the voters you have to work with when you're a US politician - that's literally your job.
Looks like you're talking about direct democracy. No, that hasn't been very popular, for a multitude of reasons. When we say "democracy", most often we mean representative democracy where we elect representatives to act on our behalf.I believe democracy is really an illusion. It isn't real, and it can't be, there never was a situation of the people all ruling.
Most people would disagree with you. Up to a point, I think direct democracy could work, but as the society grows larger, this form of government becomes increasingly difficult. Governments of some kind have historically emerged as a necessity for protection against those amongst us of violent and criminal persuasions. This is not to say there should be government with force over us. I believe I do not need that rule, I think you do not need that rule.

If we don't have government we have anarchy. Although you can probably have small communities that can function once you get big enough to need a hospital, a police force and a fire department you have to have some kind of government.Argument we hear in favor of it is all from propaganda. This is not to say there should be government with force over us. I believe I do not need that rule, I think you do not need that rule. If people did need rule over them, who is being put in office for that? If this were true just people needing rule over them are ever put in office for rule over others. And those in office have other motivation than concern for you and the public. There are many problems with this but those things are kept from attention. I don't believe voting changes anything from that for the better. We could do well enough someplace without government in place over us.
I am among the early voters because I wasn't sure I'd be home on Election Day. It was super easy and convenient.I hear the early voting numbers are relatively high, which should be a good sign for Harris.
Mrs Summer sent her ballot the other day, with tracking. It arrived eventually.
BelleMore about the early voting numbers: Women are out-voting men by significant margins in the swing states. That's the most encouraging thing I've heard at this stage in the election process.
