TV & Film The TV Room

We're on episode 4 of Fargo. It's really good! We're both enjoying it. It's kind of gruesome but they've made it very humorous at the same time.

Reactions: Second Summer
Last night we watched the first episode of Utopia. I think it will also be the last episode for me :) It was a bit crap. Well, I must admit I'm a bit of a snob regarding TV series.

There's a new reality dating show on, I want to marry Harry. I happened on one of the episodes while switching channels and from the little bit I saw, it appears that they have a look alike for Prince Harry, and a bunch of immature, American girls are making fools out of themselves in hopes of marrying who they believe is the real Prince. The final episode might be entertaining to watch when they find out the truth, but then again, probably not.

If it's real, then I think it's quite mean-spirited, but I'm confident that it's an attention-grab and all of those women know that's not Prince Harry.

OK, we tried the second episode of Utopia. Thought I should give it a second chance since after all the main characters met on an Internet forum! Well, what a mistake! What a waste of my time and insult to my intelligence that garbage was. Halfway through the episode, I just couldn't take it any more. Garbage, plain and simple.

Omg that sounds amazingly awful. More fool the women who seriously think Prince Harry would appear on a TV show

I remember some of those. I hate to admit I watched some of Joe Millionaire. I heard of average Joe and Who's your daddy, which I thought was a sick idea for a show.

Has anyone watched Penny Dreadful? We're wuite interested in it & thinking it might be the next show to watch (after Fargo ends.) :)

Orphan black...I can't even. It might need its own thread because, omg. What is even going on right now. ****.

Last week's episode... I think they pulled off Tony like really super well! Not exactly perfect, people are still going to be upset about certain things, but I have seen so many people who are so happy to be represented...

Also LEEKEY IS DEAD AND DONNY AND ALISON ARE GOING TO HIDE THE BODY. Like. Alison's life has always been dark comedy but oh my goodness!

The first episode of the second season of Orange is the New Black is now in my memory banks.

I no longer have pay tv, just the freebie channels and have been watching some of the old sitcoms. I can't believe how sexist Father Knows Best is. I understand that was the norm at the time, but jeez.

Example of an episode for those who have never seen it:
Betty, the older daughter, wants to be an engineer, unheard of for women. She joins a surveying team for a summer intern program and only goes one day, because she is hassled nonstop by the men. The foreman tells her father, women should be at home looking pretty in a dress and cooking dinner so it's ready for their husbands when they get home from work.
Jim, the father, agrees. Betty overhears and hurriedly changes into a dress so the foreman will ask her for a date. :wtf:That was the entire episode.

Yet, I'm still watching it. Go figure. :???:
