TV & Film The TV Room

I was in the city centre just now, and signed a release for a "documentary" they were filming which was blatantly a challenge for the next series of the Apprentice.

They were selling a random assortment of stuff in a pop-up shop. They tried to sell me some candles and reed diffusers, I asked if they were suitable for vegans/not animal tested, and had two of the candidates frantically searching the boxes for an answer xD

I have had HBO ever since the Internet was installed in my apartment. I only recently found that out. The cable package is very limited , came with the Internet, and is only standard definition. I unplugged it right away. Recently I paid my bill and took a gander at my plan. 'HBO', I noticed in all caps. Long story short: I started watching Game of Thrones.

Not sure if that kid is dead yet.

It seems like everything I watch has ended, what am I supposed to do now, go into the world and interact with people?:pout:

I might start on Penny Dreadful as I heard that was meant to be okay.

Wayward Pines. A new Fox series for those who like shows set in creepy small towns where bad things happen.

Well, this is the first TV series of that type that I'm watching. I've seen the first three episodes so far, and it just keeps getting more sick, more weird and more twisted. I love it.

I was trying to decide if I should start watching this...I think I'll give it a try.

Another creepy series, this time with not so innocent children, is starting on ABC, The Whispers. I like it so far. It supposed to be based on a short story by Ray Bradbury called Zero Hour. I kind of want to read the story, but don't want to ruin any surprises.

I did not but it kind of makes me want to watch it more, now...next rainy weekend.

It's called a "limited series" now. But yeah, just 10 episodes. Better hurry and catch up, 4 episodes have already aired.

And I must say,
it was sure nice of that guy to off himself so Ethan wouldn't have to do it. ;)

Question for whoever watched this week's episode: Is Nurse Pam really the new sheriff now? What do you think?

Watched the last episode of Gotham last night. The new season is not until the autumn :(

Well, this first season wasn't all that bad. Kept us entertained, and was glad to see some interesting developments in this last episode :)

I saw a tiny bit of a British cooking show today (I think it was called The Box) and there were three contestants making meals and the person who was judging said that the veggie meal needed some meat or something like that. He rated it the best out of the three meals despite it's shortcomings.:D It was a roast pepper pasta and it looked nice.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, 7-part miniseries. I watched the premiere on BBC America last night. I haven’t read the book, so the material is new to me. It looks interesting. I think I’ll continue watching. If anyone in the UK has seen it, please no spoilers, or use spoiler tags to hide them. Thanks.

Also, I’m going to give Jane the Virgin another go. I only watched the first three or four episodes when they first aired last fall, and then gave up because there were so many other shows I was trying to keep caught up on. But now that the CW is airing the series again from the beginning and it’s summer and there are way fewer shows I’m watching, I have another chance to watch this show, and hopefully be completely caught up when season 2 begins in the fall. When I started watching last fall, I found Jane the Virgin to be charming as hell, but there was just too much other stuff I wanted to watch.

OMG! OMG! OMG!

Just watched the first episode of Humans. It was amazing. Earth-shattering. Totally blew my mind.

Wow. This is going to be the show to watch for ... a while. Recommended. Definitely.

Bonus points if you recognise the mom in the family.

(Note: this viewing was enhanced with red wine and biscuits with Violife cheese.)

I watched the first episode of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, but I just couldn't get into it. I did like Jane The Virgin though.

I loved Humans, can't wait for the next episode.

Thanks for mentioning both of the new shows, I hadn't heard of them before.

I watched the Lost in Austin mini-series. If there are any Jane Austin lovers, you'll probably enjoy this series.

We binge watched the show Game of Thrones to catch up to the current season which ended last night. It is pretty awesome. We enjoy Wayward Pines which is so strange and creepy.

Oh! I shall give humans a watch. It's been advertised quite a lot & seems to have an interesting storyline.

New series of Orange Is The New Black....Yay!
