That really is confusing! Even knowing that 'watch' means conditions for one are possible, and 'warning' means one is imminent, I still have to think because it sounds so counter intuitive to me.There was a tornado warning issued in a rain band just now but it wasn't really a tornado. I hate how they say warning down here when it is just a "maybe" ( on radar) but no actual tornado. Back home in the midwest where tornadoes are frequent and huge, a warning meant one on the ground headed your way. So confusing to me when I first moved here!
I'm glad you are OK! I texted my stepbrother, who's in Spring Hill, so things just started picking up there wind- and rain-wise. Hopefully everybody will be OK.All day there has been nothing on network TV except Helene coverage. It is so boring! I have watched some of it but they say the same things over and over again. I also keep getting alerts on my Echo Dot. Of course if you are in the path of the storm, you do need to be informed but I think they go overboard.
Spring Hill is over on the West coast isn't it? They will get some nasty weather. I just texted Colin who is in Tampa and he said it hasn't been too bad yet, some rain and wind.I'm glad you are OK! Yeah, they are definitely in the path, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for them.Spring Hill is over on the West coast isn't it? They will get some nasty weather. I just texted Colin who is in Tampa and he said it hasn't been too bad yet, some rain and wind.
The Weather Channel's website is interesting, but I think they sensationalize weather events too. I hope SuicideBlonde and everyone else pulls through. All day there has been nothing on network TV except Helene coverage. It is so boring! All good. We are inland, higher elevation.Hope @SuicideBlonde is okay .
We expect some rain every day, and temps in low 70s, so typical first week of fall
