The Weather.

I'm freezing and I love it...for now lol.
It's still getting hot by afternoon but I love the mornings so much. It's almost 10:30 and I still need my fleece.

So far the hurricane has had no impact at all over here. Now I feel dumb for cancelling my plans with Haley! The wind is a bit gusty and I think there was a very brief rain shower earlier but that's it. It could get a little worse later on.

There was a tornado warning issued in a rain band just now but it wasn't really a tornado. I hate how they say warning down here when it is just a "maybe" ( on radar) but no actual tornado. Back home in the midwest where tornadoes are frequent and huge, a warning meant one on the ground headed your way. So confusing to me when I first moved here!

That really is confusing! Even knowing that 'watch' means conditions for one are possible, and 'warning' means one is imminent, I still have to think because it sounds so counter intuitive to me.
Glad you're good

All day there has been nothing on network TV except Helene coverage. It is so boring! I have watched some of it but they say the same things over and over again. I also keep getting alerts on my Echo Dot. Of course if you are in the path of the storm, you do need to be informed but I think they go overboard.

I'm glad you are OK! I texted my stepbrother, who's in Spring Hill, so things just started picking up there wind- and rain-wise. Hopefully everybody will be OK.

Spring Hill is over on the West coast isn't it? They will get some nasty weather. I just texted Colin who is in Tampa and he said it hasn't been too bad yet, some rain and wind.

Yeah, they are definitely in the path, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for them.

The Weather Channel's website is interesting, but I think they sensationalize weather events too. I hope SuicideBlonde and everyone else pulls through.

I don't much care for winter, despite living in the Northeast my whole life... but I've never been through a hurricane. (Or a major earthquake or tornado).

We didn't get much from Helene here, just a little windy and some rain. Although my sister had part of a big old tree in their yard fall on the roof but it didn't cause roof damage. It very much depended on where the bands came through. She lives southwest of here and farther west it was worse.
Today is hot and humid and might rain as is typical.
