The Weather.

Watching Milton as he heads our way. The news keeps us informed. I took down my windchimes and hanging plant today between the rain showers we are having that aren't even connected to the hurricane. All this rain is going to make the flooding that much worse when the hurricane gets here.

My weather channel says it's a cat 5 now but could downgrade to a 3 when it makes landfall near Tampa. Not that a 3 isn't anything to worry about. It can do a lot of damage, especially the water surge. 😢

I'm glued to the weather channel...watching everyone trying to move north. The traffic is insane. At this rate it's going to take them two days to get to safety. 😢

They are making a good point about getting out instead of thinking you can just ride it out. Even if you escape unscathed, you are now trapped. In the event of an emergency like an injury or heart attack, you won't be able to get out afterwards and no one will be able to get to you. It could take weeks before your power is restored so you will basically be cut off from the rest of the world.

If you're like me and you need a quick C to F conversion.
Just... Double it and add 30.

but if you want an F to C conversion its Take away 30 and halve it. .

To keep things simple - remember just the one that you'll use most often.

One would think I was in the middle of the hurricane threat with the way that I'm so obsessed over it. I do have a lot of family and friends who live in Florida. I keep hoping that the media is hyping it up and that it isn't going to be as bad as they say.

I usually go to my app and change the setting to Celsius. But your suggestion is way easier because then I have to remember to change the app back to Fahrenheit. It's annoying. But I like to do that when I'm posting screenshots of the extended forecast, especially when temps might be extreme either way for hot or cold.

TJ Maxx is closing both Wednesday and Thursday so you know this Milton is a bad one! If you are scheduled those days, you do get paid. Friday the store will be open regular hours if there is power.
I have put all my garden decorations in my storage box and taken down the bird feeder. I think my patio furniture is ok in the patio that is fenced in. . I just talked to Colin and he has moved inland from Tampa to his girlfriend's mom's place. I didn't even know he had a girlfriend! LOL I turned my fridge up to the highest setting but now my water in my filtered container is solid ice! I turned it back up but will try to remember to turn it down again. Charging up all my power banks and devices. I expect to lose power overnight Wednesday when it passes over here. I will bring my solar powered security light inside for light which worked really well the last time. I am as prepared as I can be!
