Literature What are you currently reading?

Not to "judge a book by its cover" which is what im totally doing, what audience is that book aimed at? It sounds good, but the cover makes it look like teen fiction. Ive had my year's worth of teen fiction with the hunger games and dont fancy any more for a while.

IMO he's smarter than teen fiction, not that certain teens wouldn't like his stuff. He's pretty humorous.

Just recently finished The Hunger Games, which was pleasing, but not the end-all-be-all of creation that I think it's made out to be. Took me about I don't know, forever to read it. Finished up a book on breastfeeding too, but not sure that's what the community at large is interested in reading, heh.

I'm waiting eagerly for the next Audrey Niffeneger novel. Her stuff is amazing!
Ha I would read the breastfeeding book. If you ever see The Politics of Breastfeeding: When Breasts are Bad for Business by Gabrielle Palmer, I totally recommend it. :)

Just started re-reading Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson.

Have you read her autobiography which covers the real stories behind the fictionalized tale in OANTOF? it is called Why Be Happy When You Can Be Normal. (a phrase said to her by her mother when she said that being in love with another girl made her happy) So sad. Also the film version of OANTOF is amazing if you've not seen it.

Not yet. I've got the audio version of the book on hold at the library, though. :)

Delta of Venus - Anais Nin D:

I picked it up because I liked the cover and I like Anais Nin. WHAT IS THIS???

I have read a few Diane Chamberlain books over the past week. I was recommended her by Amazon and I obey Amazon. I read The Midwife's Confession, The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes, Brass Ring and The Escape Artist.

I am reading The Innocent Man by John Grisham which is a non-fiction book about several cases of wrongful convictions. Fascinating account of corruption and incompetence and really frightening. Sadly this kind of thing still occurs today.

I am reading the lightest, fluffiest, most inane fluff I can find. Things like 50 Shades of Grey and the Charlie Parker Mystery series by Connie Shelton.

They're not literature by any means. But after a day spent studying nursing text books or 12 hours on my feet in clinical rotations being made to feel completely clueless and mostly inept ... I need something that requires no brain power but is amusing. It is my daily wind down before going to sleep.

I read that stuff too... recently finished a book by Joan Collins. Pure soap opera crap! :D
I read in bed before going to sleep also.
