Literature What are you currently reading?

Us too. We've got several replica keys (head key, animal key, moon key and angel key) the animal key came autographed by Joe Hill and the angel key by Gabriel Rodriguez. http://www.skeltoncrewstudio.bigcartel.com/ Sweet! we've just ordered a display cabinet for them and hope Israel Skelton will make a timeshift key as well. I would love to have them all but they are pricy--but incredibly well made.

I love Joe Hill as an author--Horns is amazing and is going to be a film starring daniel Radcliffe as Ig Parrish. Plus his short stories collection 20th Century Ghosts is wonderful. Pop Art is my favourite story.

*scuttles off to re-read Horns*

Oh wow - I have to have me one of those keys...so cool! Thanks for the link. :)

Killing Floor - Lee Child

I'm not reading the Reacher novels in order, but oh well. That's library life..

I don't want to derail the thread, but.. ? :)
For me? My daughter (23) is writing her first novel, and she gave me her first three chapters to read. I enjoyed it and am nagging her to write faster, so I can read more. :)

On topic, I also just reread 1984 for the first time since high school. :)

Fifty Shades Darker- E L James

I know it's porrly written and a little bit rubbish, but I got the first one Fifty Shades of Grey, because everyone had read it and I wanted to see what the fuss was about and now I'm hooked and NEED to know what happens!!

The next thing on my list is the Hunger Games trilogy.

Just got done with Chris Colfer's Land of Stories. It was brilliant. At first I was taking the stance of "it's good but it's definitely a children's book" and I thought the plot was pretty transparent (because it was a kids' book - I have nothing but respect for Chris Colfer's huge amount of talent and I believe he could write anything from a simple story to an incredibly complex TV show on par with LOST if he wanted to, and he probably will go on to do such things) but as the book went on it just kept getting better and better, and although I successfully predicted certain parts, it ended up going everywhere and it was just so good. I recommend it to anyone - you definitely don't have to be a kid to enjoy this book, and it feels great to support such an awesome and talented guy.

The power was out for a while tonight, so I stumbled over to my bookcase and started rereading this one:

Jingo - Terry Pratchett

The way work has been kicking my tail, I need a good laugh. Sir Terry is the perfect solution to that problem

Granny Weatherwax is my overall favourite character. I do love Sam Vimes but in Jingo Beti is the best character without a doubt. I also love her other personality.

I don't know if you've read Jingo before so I'm trying not to give spoilers :p

I'm only about halfway through it. I can hardly wait, though.

I may have lied. Death as old Bill Door might trump Vimes

I *adore* granny Weatherwax!

Currently reading One Drop by Bliss Broyard--on his death bed her father revealed that he was actually black passing as white. true story--fascinating stuff about how passing as white could net you more opportunities.

The Story of a Soul by Saint Therese of Liseaux.
