:jump: Yes! ...and.... stupid Moffet is gone! I haven't watched the Doctor since and am looking forward to this!
I so wanted River...I blame Moffet for the terrible scripts. I liked that doctor too..
Yeah, Jer & I discussed this quite a bit.... we thought they should definitely go with a female doctor, a black doctor, or a fat doctor. ;)

Why not all three??

I live for the tears of fake geek boys who have decided this is the hill they're gonna die on. Anyone who has any familiarity with the show knows that Time Lords don't have an established concept of gender and often regenerate looking wildly different. We saw it happen right in front of us last season, for crying out loud - an old white guy regenerated into a younger black lady. And that was in a Moffat episode. If even Moffat can wrap his head around that...

I've already seen two outraged online petitions: One demanding that the BBC cancel Dr. Who, and the other demanding that Dr. Who cancel itself. Clearly not from people who have actually seen the show. I'm reminded of the idiots freaking out over the diverse casting in the latest Star Trek movies, clearly people who have never seen any iteration of Star Trek and are clueless about the entire franchise. There are a lot of people out there who aren't happy unless they're outraged over something stupid, I guess.

My wife and I have finally succumbed and started to watch "Game of Thrones".

I had read the books some years ago, and have realized that as George R.R. Martin in the last years obviously has been more interested in hanging out with the actors on the movie set than in sitting in his home office, alone, typing away at the newest book (let's be honest - who can really fault him for that :-) ) the latest book will likely never come and I would have to switch to the TV series as some point in time.

We have been watching it for 2 days now (weekend), so we're now at the end of season two. If you mean that is slightly excessive, you might have a point (but well, those shows are really quite nice)

I don't watch Dr. Who, but I thought there had already been a female doctor a few seasons ago.
I wonder why I thought that? :???:

Let us know what you think as you keep going. Personally I think it went way downhill after Season 2 and I ended up giving up on it halfway through the sixth season.

I found GOT too violent and gross and stopped watching that a while ago.

I saw that Midnight, Texas is starting here soon, I might watch that. Oh, actually I just read it had quite bad reviews. I did watch True Blood, but then I got bored and stopped watching that and I didn't ever see what happened in the last season.

I was thinking of watching this. What are the bad reviews saying about it? You can use spoiler tags if you want.

Oh, it just said it was a second rate True Blood, I think it said there was a talking cat in the show, though.:D I will probably watch the first episode anyway to see what I think.
